Celebrate National Pickleball Day with Selkirk Sport and PHIT America

National Pickleball Day, held annually on August 8, is a special day dedicated to celebrating the growth and popularity of pickleball, one of the fastest-growing sports in America.

This day encourages enthusiasts to showcase the sport, introduce new players to the game, and spread the joy of pickleball.

As one of Selkirk’s core missions is to grow the game, this National Pickleball Day, the company is teaming up with PHIT America to promote accessibility to the sport.

What is PHIT America?

PHIT America is a nonprofit organization focused on promoting physical activity and combating the sedentary lifestyle epidemic in the U.S.

Founded in 2013, PHIT America works to improve the physical and mental health of children through increased physical activity and fitness. The nonprofit provides grants, programs, and resources to schools and communities to ensure children have opportunities for an active and healthy lifestyle.

One of PHIT America’s most popular initiatives is AMPED, a program in more than 600 schools designed to encourage physical activity, along with various campaigns to raise awareness about the importance of physical fitness.

Now, the nonprofit offers a pickleball program, which introduces young children to the basics of pickleball.

Help us support the growth of the game

On National Pickleball Day, for every pickleball paddle purchased on Selkirk.com, Selkirk Sport will donate one paddle to PHIT America. People who purchase a paddle will also receive a four-pack of Pro S1 pickleballs

The donated paddles will be distributed by PHIT America to families in need, helping to introduce more people to the sport and encourage an active lifestyle.

Selkirk Sport has previously donated more than 100 paddles to PHIT America's network of volunteer coaches across the United States. These coaches introduce pickleball to new players and foster a love for the sport.

Additionally, Selkirk has invited these coaches to join its Advocate Program, which aims to provide coaches with resources, training, and support to continue promoting and growing the sport of pickleball.
